Medical College reluctant to submit purchase details

JAMMU, Nov 28: The Account section of the Government Medical College Jammu has completely failed to submit the information pertaining to purchase made for the last two financial years and the higher-ups of the Health and Medical Education Department is still waiting for the same.

The order, a copy of which is in possession of Early Times, vide no HME/Acctts/Enquiry/2019 dated 10-11-2019, sought information pertaining to purchase made for the financial year 2017-18 and 2018-19 but information has not been provided so far by the concerned authority.

Sources told that the parental department has been asking the concerned authority to provide the above-said information as soon as possible for last sometime that the enquiry would be completed but it appears that the administration is reluctant to provide the same to the concerned for best reasons known to them.

"Concerned authority repeatedly asked the concerned official of the Medical College to provide the details of the items which were purchased during the above said financial years as an enquiry is still pending with the department, "sources stated, adding that it is a regular practice of the department to seek information related to the utilization of the funds which were provided to the concerned authority for spending on required items.

After purchasing, it is the basic duty of the above-said officials to submit the details to the concerned wing of the department so more funds would be released as well as come to know, the funds are used on fairly or not, sources said.

It is alleged that the funds have not been used reasonably that's why the concerned authority has completely failed to submit the details after seeking information repeatedly which raises many questions on the working on the concerned authority.
